VARANASI: Mutilated bodies of three of a family including a man, his wife and daughter were found on a railway track near Korauti village under the limits of Kandva police station in Chandauli district on Sunday.
Police claimed that they died due to coming under the wheels of moving train while crossing the railway tracks near their village. ASP Chandauli Prem Chandra said that following ascertaining the identity of killed persons their bodies were sent for postmortem examination.
According to reports, some people noticed mutilated bodies of a man and two women at the railway tracks near Korauti village on Sunday morning when they reported the matter to police.
Chandra said that cops from Kandva and Dhina police stations rushed to the incident site. On reaching the spot, the cops called the Gram Pradhan of Korauti Nand Kumar who identified the dead people after which their family members were also summoned there.
The dead people were identified as Vikram Yadav (50), his wife Girija (45) and daughter Ranjita (16). Their family members said that Vikram had left home with his wife and daughter on Saturday evening to go to his in-laws in Jamania area of Ghazipur district. Chandra said that it is suspected that while crossing the railway tracks they would have failed to notice the arrival of train and got ran over.
Villagers said that Vikram and his three brothers lived separately with their families in the village. Vikram had four daughters of which three were married while Ranjita was a class-X student.
