NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old created a record by becoming the youngest person to clear 14 levels of the Tenali Pariksha on Sunday. The teenager, Priyavrata, thereby became the youngest person to pass the Maha Pariksha.
His achievement was lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who tweeted: “Congratulations to Priyavrata for this feat. His achievement will serve as a source of inspiration for many.”

Tenali Pariksha is conducted under Shri Kanchi Veda Vedanta Shastra Sabha.
The Sabha conducts shastric exams every six months in Byaya, Mimamsa, Vyakarana, Advaita and Veda Bhashya. Priyavrata studies all Vyakarana Maha Granthas from Sri Mohana Sharma.
“This is a remarkable feat achieved by a 16-year-old. It is difficult for scholars who are 40-50 years to clear this 14-step exam of shastras,” said Ramesh Bhardwaj, HoD of DU’s Sanskrit department.
