Terrifying moment an Indian Elephant pushes a truck over with its trunk as the driver manages to swiftly escape

A driver escapes uninjured after a male elephant topples over his van parked on the side of the road.

However, the wild animal stops in its tracks and approaches the truck, where it effortlessly pushes the vehicle over.  

As the animal strides down the road, onlookers rush over to the van to check on the driver.

Luckily locals said the driver was injured after he managed to escape from the truck before the elephant wrecked havoc.

The stray elephant had reportedly strayed from the surrounding forest and caused carnage after making its way into the residential area. 

Indian Elephants typically weigh five tons and stretch to 21 feet in length.  

The elephants grow to 11 feet and live in broadleaf forests, grassland and can survive in tropical conditions.
