NEW DELHI: BJP spokesperson and New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi on Monday alleged that by denying permission to prosecute former JNU students for sedition, the AAP government violated the provisions of the Constitution.
Addressing a press conference, Lekhi claimed that the government was trying to “favour those who want to break India”.
Meanwhile, hitting back at BJP, AAP accused the ruling party at the Centre of indulging in “dirty politics”.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said BJP was not getting real issues to target the Arvind Kejriwal government, and so “it is indulging in dirty politics”.
“Amit Shah is not getting any issues and that is why Kanhaiya Kumar is being made into one. Why did Delhi Police take three years to file a chargesheet when it could have been done in 90 days,” Singh said, adding that no decision had been taken yet on the former JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar and nine others.
