PATNA: The Pataliputra Colony police on Tuesday busted a sex racket and arrested three persons, including a woman, from an apartment in Nehru Nagar locality of the state capital. One girl was rescued from the flat.
Pataliputra Colony SHO Kamleshwar Prasad Singh the police team, acting on a tip-off, raided flat number D-8 in the Grant Apartment and arrested the mastermind Sujeet Kumar and his live-in partner Rani Thappa and a pimp Sunil Kumar.

Police sources said Sunil was running the sex racket through social networking sites and used to communicate with his customers through WhatsApp. “They created a web page named as ‘Playboy Patna’ and shared a contact number as well. They were active in the city for the last two months and operated the business from the rented flat in Nehru Nagar,” the SHO said.
Sunil used to send pictures of girls to customers and supplied them as per their requirement. The three have been booked under several Sections of IPC. They were forwarded to jail, the SHO said. The police seized some objectionable items, mobile phones and cash from the flat.
The SHO said Rani used to lure young women on the pretext of giving them jobs. “The girl rescued hails from Kolkata and Rani met her while she was travelling by a train to Patna. Rani told the girl that she runs a beauty parlour at Nehru Nagar and will pay her Rs2,500 per day if she works for her. The girl agreed and came to Patna a few days ago,” he said.
“Rani had left her husband a year back and started living with Sujeet. Both of them started this racket with the help of Sunil,” the SHO said.
