CHARMINAR: Four batches of
Haj pilgrims, consisting of 1,442 people, arrived at the
Shamshabad Airport on Tuesday and three more flights are schedule to arrive on September 11.
Over 5,280 pilgrims from
Telangana went to
Saudi Arabia this year to perform Haj. Many Hajis TOI spoke to said Air India’s services had been unsatisfactory. A pilgrim from Kishanbagh said they were made to wait for a day because of a technical glitch in the flight.
They were, however, provided accommodation at a hotel.
“The technical glitch caused a delay in reaching home. Though, we were given accommodation, the food packets that were offered to us had expired,”Anwar Khan said. Telangana State Haj Committee chairman Mohammed Masiullah Khan said the matter would be taken up with Central Haj Committee.
“We did everything on to ensure a comfortable journey for pilgrims. We have noted down the complaints and will take it up with Central Haj Committee,” Mohammed Masiullah Khan, chairman TSHC.
