Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh announced that he will postpone a concert in Houston after there was much controversy over the organiser, who was a Pakistani. The singer shared a statement after FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) asked the Ministry of External Affairs to cancel his visa.

In his statement, Dilhit said he had "just become aware" of the letter and that his contract for the concert tour is with an agency, by the name of Shri Balaji Entertainment. In his statement, Diljit wrote, "I have just become aware of a letter issued by FWICE to me by an article published. I was not aware of any such intimate by the Federation before today. I would like to state that my contract is only with Shri Balaji Entertainment. My dealings and agreement is with them only and nobody else mentioned in the Federation letter. However in lieue of the letter by FWICE, I have decided to postpone my Houston show. I love my country and will always stand for the greater interest of the Nation. India Always."

Earlier this week, FWICE had written a letter to Ministry of External Affairs, stating that Diljit would be performing at the request of Pakistani national Rehan Siddiqui and this "would set a wrong precdent in view of the current alarming situation between the two countries". The letter urged that Diljit's visa should be cancelled, and that he "had been allured by the Pak national, Mr Rehan Siddiqui. "It is therefore our humble request for you to cancel the visa of Mr Diljit Dosanjh and his troupe or the application for visa not be granted to restrain their performance in America, as it will be labelled anti-national."

"We are doing our duty and wish the government take appropriate action. We hope you will do the needful to crackdown the menace to avoid the devastating effects," read the letter.

Currently, Diljit is busy with his Roar Tour. Apart from this, he will next be seen in the Bollywood film Good Newz, which stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani.
