(HealthNewsDigest.com - We're living in stressful times. Studies show that eight out of 10 people deal with stress on a constant basis.

Aside from being a crummy way to live, improper handling of stress can lead to weight gain, heart disease, and sleep disorders.

While we can't help you get rid of stress for good, we can help you deal with it. These stress-relief games are the perfect way to unwind after a hard day. Keep reading to learn more!

1. Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a game about farming and dating. Alright, on the surface that might not sound like the most fun game in the world, but it's a great time.

The game kicks off with your character inheriting your uncle's old farm, which is overrun with weeds and shrubs. It's up to you to clear out the farm, plant crops, and make friends with the townspeople.

While doing chores might not seem like a fun way to unwind, Stardew Valley is charming, upbeat, and downright adorable enough that you'll keep coming back for more.

2. Minecraft

There's a big misconception that Minecraft is just for kids. On the contrary, it's a game for anyone interested in expressing their creativity.

Minecraft gives you the chance to build anything you can imagine. From castles and roller coasters to mansions and treehouses.

Minecraft has all the fun of playing with Lego but without the risk of ruining your day by stepping on a block.

3. 2048

The premise behind 2048 is simple: mix and match like blocks to form new blocks, then match those blocks.

It goes on and on and on until you either give up or run out of space on the board. It's fun, challenging, and requires a surprising amount of forethought.

2048 is the perfect game to pick up and play when you have a few minutes or just need to unwind and shut off your brain.

4. The Sims

Remember how you spent hours as a kid building the perfect family (or destroying them) on The Sims? Well, you'll be happy to know that The Sims holds up.

This massively popular franchise is still around, with regular content updates and expansions hitting stores every few months.

The most recent entry in the franchise, The Sims 4, is the most feature-rich game in the series yet. Take on new jobs, explore the neighborhood, or channel your inner supervillain and create a virtual Escape Room.

5. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp shares a great deal in common with Stardew Valley. Both are laid back experiences designed to allow players to build the world around them.

In fact, Stardew took quite a few inspirations from the original Animal Crossing.

However, the mobile entry, Pocket Camp, is a little different. While you can still build your dream home, fish, collect seashells and more, the main objective is to hang out with the townspeople -- all of whom are adorable animals.

It's quirky, it's cute, and it's a whole lot of fun.
