Hyderabad: RSS chief addresses devotees, skirts Ram Temple issue
Mohan Bhagwat (centre) addresses the crowd at Mozamjahi market
HYDERABAD: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat made no mention of the Ram temple issue during the Ganesha idol immersion rally at Moazzam Jahi Market on Thursday. He, however, applauded the citizens’ enthusiasm in organising the Ganesha festival in a big way in Hyderabad.
As soon as he mentioned Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar, the crowds went rapturous and wanted him to lash out at the regional parties for opposing the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
When a person from the crowd urged him to speak about the mandir issue, Bhagwat continued with his speech without making a mention of it.
The RSS chief highlighted as to how the message of Lord Ganesha is relevant to the society and how an individual should learn from him. Bhagwat also narrated mythological incidents where Lord Ganesha spread his wisdom for the benefit of people and went on to say Hyderabad knows how to celebrate the festival. “In India, such enthusiasm for Ganesha festival is seen only in Bhagyanagar,” said the RSS chief.
“Names of political parties were not taken by our chief as it was Ganesha idol immersion day,” said RSS pracharak A Shyam Kumar. Meanwhile, AIMIM leaders said that the RSS chief did not speak anything provocative because BJP was eyeing the state’s Muslim vote-bank.
