It is essential to mention that in some places on our beautiful planet, you can get fined or be put into jail because of carrying or using a vaporizer device. The fact that some governments try to fight to smoke in such a way is undeniable.

The majority of people believe that there exists no prohibition on vaporizing devices. They are sure that the thing is in the substance that they might use. For example, if you consume cannabis, it does not matter whether it is a vape or a joint – it is not legal. However, it is essential to mention that in some places on our beautiful planet, you can get fined or be put into jail because of carrying or using a vaporizer device. The fact that some governments try to fight to smoke in such a way is undeniable.

What does America say?

The American nation is famous for being liberal to different novelties and open to technical advances. And however, if the novelties are harmful, the government would frown upon them. For example, San Francisco is the first big city, where the sale of e-cigarettes is banned. Officials voted for it on the 25th of June this year.

One of the reasons for the ban was the increase in the popularity of e-cigarettes and other vaping devices among teenagers. Though some of the young people use non-nicotine vape pens (further reading), we cannot deny the problem of addiction to nicotine among youth. According to the statistics, more than 10% of people over the age of 16 have used e-cigarette regularly. We should also keep in mind that some of those who participated in the questionnaire lied because they were afraid, to tell the truth.

Firstly, the FDA classifies vapes as drug delivery devices, but after society’s dissatisfaction with such a decision, they have included e-cigarettes into new regulations for tobacco products. However, now it seems that vapes might be banned, or at least some types of them. Recently, President Trump has held a policy meeting at the White House, where the question of vaping-related illnesses was discussed. Concluding the official information media predict a ban for flavored e-cigarettes within the USA.

What is the situation on global scale?
The facts today tell us that many either advanced or third world countries forbid the sale and sometimes use of even such innocent things as non-nicotine vape.

In India, the government has summoned the country to ban vapes, however just some states agreed, and vapes are not to be used. These states are Jammu, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Mizoram, and Punjab. If you plan to have traveled throughout these states in India, it is better to avoid taking along your vape. However, the rest of the country is completely ok with all kinds of vapes, starting from dry herb vape pen to nicotine-free vape pen. In India, the situation with cannabis is quite ambiguous: selling it is a criminal offense, but the use if not directly prohibited and it is easy to buy a blend of marijuana and some other substances, especially during fests.

In Australia, the law on vaping is rather complicated and confusing, because in fact, there exists no requirement for banning vaping. However, liquids like nicotine are declared as poison, therefore, there is a ban on selling it, such an act is a criminal offense. On the other hand, if such a sale is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), you might sell and buy it. The other regulations highly depend on the state you go to. So, you might be allowed to carry only a nicotine-free vape pen for personal use, but precise rules vary from state to state.

In Japan, it is illegal to sell and buy e-cigarettes containing nicotine, however, they are completely ok if you have your non-nicotine vape pen. The fact is that there does not exist any regulation on nicotine-free vapes.

Taiwan has rather strict rules on vaporizing devices too. Article 14 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act prohibits the import of e-cigarettes and e liquids as such, which means that it is forbidden for passengers to bring even their nicotine-free vape pen.

Thailand is the country where everything connected to vapes is forbidden. The strictest restrictions on vaping are considered to be in this country. Any vaporizing device, including nicotine-free vape, is prohibited. Your travel agent would definitely tell you that if you take your vape mod to Thailand, you could spend from one up to ten years in prison there. Admittedly, not all vapers end up in a prison, but they, for sure, face a heavy fine (starting from $945). Witnesses say that even carrying a vape can lead to negative consequences.

In Singapore, the government takes a serious view of consuming tobacco products. Section 16 of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act prohibits e-cigarettes. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has enforced this Act to prohibit the import, distribution, and sale of anything (whether it is a food product, or a toy, etc) that causes the association with any tobacco product. A fine for using vapes might get up to $5,000 upon conviction.

If we talk about other countries, we can claim that in most countries were to exist some legislation connected to nicotine-containing substances, vapes are banned to sell to people under 18. What can this tendency tell us about? The answer is quite clear: people discover more about this world every day; they learn new things and beef up their knowledge about popular activities such as vaping. Therefore, if they see this activity harmful and can prove it with scientific researches, they prevent society from such activities.

The most dangerous place for a vaper is Singapore, for sure. The laws there are strict and cogent.
