Maharashtra: Pune fire brigade, lifeguards rescue 8 in three days

At least eight persons were rescued in different incidents in Maharshtra's Pune district during the last three days.

PUNE: At least eight persons were rescued in different incidents in Maharshtra's Pune district during the last three days.
Three persons had a narrow escape on Thursday during an immersion of Lord Ganesh idol after their boat capsized at Mutha river in Pune.
Firemen and the lifeguards at the ghat jumped into the water and safely brought the trio to the Ghat.
Station house officer Shivaji Memane, who was at the Amruteshwar Ghat, said that the trio were carrying Ganesh idol in the boat when their boat capsized around 6pm on Thursday.
"Three persons in the boat had started drowning," Memane said.
In another incident, fire officer Kamalesh Sangale rescued a 14-year-old girl who was drowning at Aundh during the idol immersion on Thursday afternoon. Later in the evening, fireman Chandrakant Burud also rescued a 54-year-old man at the same spot in Aundh.
In total, Pune fire brigade have rescued eight people from drowning in the last three days.
