One killed, two injured in Suryapet blast

Suryapet: One person was killed and two others sustained sevior injuries in an explosion that ripped through a scrap shop beside the Ayyappa Swami temple at Suryapet on Friday morning, leading to tension for some time.

According to news reports The police identified the man who died in the blast
as Ramachandra Saahu, a native of Maharashtra. Those injured were identified as Bujjamma, native of Ramakoti thanda, and Salman, another native of Maharashtra.

Addressing the media, Suryapet Deputy Superintendent of Police said that the blast
could have taken place as a result of heat generated while crushing plastic containers and iron items.

Saahu, who was operating the crushing
machine, died on the spot. The clues team members collected evidence that will be sent to the forensic science lab for analysis.

According to the sources, “The blast took place when the labourers were trying to crush a plastic container using a machine. The men who sustained injuries were shifted to a hospital and their condition was stated to be out of danger.”

Police searched the entire area for any explosives, but did not find any, the DSP
said. The police have registered a case under section 304A of IPC.
