Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee panel on mining row

HYDERABAD: Upping the ante on the issue of uranium mining in Nallamala forest, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday appointed a committee to inspect the mining site and study the issue. The committee will be headed by senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao.
The committee members will visit the forest and submit a report on the uranium mining. The TPCC also plans to hold a workshop on uranium mining and invite experts to speak on the issue at the workshop.
Meanwhile, reacting to TRS working president KT Rama Rao’s tweet that the matter will be placed before chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy on Friday tweeted that KTR should stop the drama and immediately withdraw the permission given for uranium mining.
