MUZAFFARPUR: Police have arrested four people, including the wife of a trader who was shot dead at his house in Muzaffarpur town on Thursday night.
An unidentified gunman had killed Jitendra Kumar Das, a wholesale trader of paper-made cartons, by shooting him from point blank range on his head at his residence at Indra Colony under Sadar police station in Muzaffarpur.

SHO of Muzaffarpur Sadar police station Mithilesh Kumar Jha said Rubi Tandon, wife of the deceased trader, and three others, including the alleged lover of the trader, were arrested in connection with the case.
“We have got some clues from statements of the arrested people. We are probing the case from two angles – extra marital affair and property dispute,” the SHO added.
“We are trying to get call detain records of the two daughters of the deceased to unravel the mystery behind the murder,” Jha said.
Meanwhile, police sources said the alleged lover of the trader had made him two calls before his murder. The woman has also confessed to the police that she had made first call in the evening and second call at around 8pm (the time the trader was shot dead as per autopsy report). But she has denied the charge of having illicit relation with the trader. The woman told the police that she came into contact with the deceased trader in December 2017. “He was my uncle,” the woman told the police.
