Uttar Pradesh: 24-year-old youth shot dead in Hathras
The deceased, Shubham Mani Gautam was sitting at a shop with his friends, when three youths came on a motorcycle and fired at least half a dozen shots at him.
AGRA: A 24-year-old youth was allegedly shot dead by three bike-borne assailants in Hathras’s Sadabad area on Sunday.
According to the police, the deceased, Shubham Mani Gautam alias Ilu, was sitting at a shop with his friends, when three youths came on a motorcycle and fired at least half a dozen shots at him from close range. Gautam was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body was then sent for post mortem by the police. He sustained five bullet injuries, said police.
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Sidhartha Verma said, a case has been registered against four persons, Shahid, Ankit, Ankush, and Lakhan under section 302 (murder) of IPC on the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased’s father Dhanendra Mani. He said, further investigations are on.
According to local residents, Shubham was a good friend of Ankit, who is now a suspect in the case. The FIR states that there was a clash between the duo 15 days ago, but it was not reported to police. The suspect’s father had then threatened the deceased’s family members that if they tried to escalate the matter, they would have to face the consequences.
Shubham’s father said in his complaint that Shahid came to their house around 11:30 Sunday morning and took his son on his motorcycle and after sometime they got the information of his death. He said that he was told by local residents, where his son was shot dead, that three youths, later identified as Ankit, Ankush, and Lakhan allegedly killed his son.
The motorcycle with registration number UP 80 EP 1251 which was used for committing crime was left behind by the assailants when they fled the spot.
