KOLAR/BENGALURU: Tomato farmers from Kolar district can now cultivate the vegetable in Kashmir valley, Union minister for health and family welfare Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday.
Speaking to the media in Kolar in the morning, the minister said this has become possible because of the recent decisions taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah.
The people of Kolar who have made tremendous progress in the field of agriculture and horticulture by adopting modern techniques will have wider scope in Kashmir, the minister added.

Later in Bengaluru, Harsh Vardhan said the Centre will increase the number of health and wellness centres in the country from the current 22,000 to 1.5 lakh by 2022. The facilities will look at preventive and promotive healthcare as well as non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
