A laugh riot, Dream Girl is set in the bylanes of Mathura and has a rustic touch to it, with the characters' dialogues and interactions reminiscent of small-town India. In the film, Ayushmann plays the character of Param, who impersonates women in local plays to earn money until he gets a job at a 'friendship' call centre. At his new job, Param has to speak in a woman's voice to entice men and women. So he becomes Pooja.

Dream Girl boasts of an array of strong actors including Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Nushrat Bharucha, Rajesh Sharma and Nidhi Bisht, among others. Annu Kapoor is reuniting with his Vicky Donor co-star Ayushmann Khurrana once again in this comedy of errors. Ayushmann Khurrana's impersonation of a woman with such confidence and elan is being appreciated by all. The actor has again proven his versatility and is setting high benchmarks for not only other actors but for himself as well.

Dream Girl has received mixed reviews from critics, but has opened to great response at the box office. The light-hearted comedy with non-stop punch-lines and situational puns have been applauded by cinegoers.

Dream Girl movie review:

IndiaToday.in's Charu Thakur said in her review of Dream Girl that Raaj Shandilya has kept the film crisp and entertaining but among all the laughter, the subject has lost its fizz. Giving it 3 out of 5 stars, she wrote, "Raaj Shaandilyaa deserves credit for bringing something new to the table. However, his hesitation to delve deeper into the subject makes it score less on the report card. If you are looking for a light-hearted comedy this weekend, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl should definitely be on your list."

Going by the first three day's collection, Ayushmann's out-and-out comedy film is likely to set the cash registers ringing. The film is going to break all box office records for the actor's career, which obviously will be the icing on the cake for Ayushmann, who shared the Best Actor National Award this year with Vicky Kaushal.
