BENGALURU: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa said the government will build a film city, spread over 600 acres, at Roerich estate, off Kanakapura Road, and work on the project will kick off soon.
Speaking at Founders Day of Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) in the city on Sunday, Yediyurappa also said he plans to transform the face of Bengaluru in a span of eight months.

FKCCI observes its founder, Sir M Visvesvaraya’s birth anniversary as Founders Day.
“I have a plan to change the face of Bengaluru within eight months,” Yediyurappa said. “We will work towards providing basic infrastructure facilities and about Rs 11,000 crore will go towards building roads, underpasses and important corridors. The integration of NICE road with the planned Peripheral Ring Road will also be part of new projects.”
The CM also reiterated that a metro rail link from airport to the city, will be established for the ease of airport commuters.
He went on to say, “We will strive to revive water bodies and will work with Israeli companies on a solution to the garbage issue to make the city cleaner.” He said the government will work towards making Bengaluru more industry-friendly as more than 70% of the state’s revenue comes from the industrial sector.
He also gave an in-principle nod to sanction over Rs 5 crore for the Agro Food Processing Summit, scheduled to be organised by FKCCI in Bengaluru between April 8-12 next year.
