Podar World School celebrated
Hindi Diwas at its campus at Sherkhi near the city on Saturday by organizing various events.
Students were oriented about the importance of
Hindi language and how celebrating the day helps in sustaining traditional values and glorifying them to reinforce the languages' importance. The students were also told that English is equally important and that it should be used in such a way that both languages - Hindi and English - complement each other.
The audience of students and teachers was entertained by students of class VII and class VIII through a street play highlighting the significance of Hindi language.
Later, few students shared some Hindi proverbs along with explaining them and some narrated Hindi couplets. The audience got charged when some students cracked jokes in Hindi.
At the end of the celebration, the principal of the school
Preeta Pillai shared the achievements of the students in various events of
Khel Mahakumbh and at competitive exams. Some students who had made a mark in curricular and co-curricular activities were also felicitated.
