BFF-winning documentary screened at first Movie Monday
Movie Monday's return to Bentonville for the Fall season. It's a way to experience BFF outside of its usual one week in May. The first film set to screen Monday evening was an audience-favorite in this year's festival. It was voted as best documentary. "Our Quinceanera" hits the screen this evening at 6. There are two more screenings planned - a way to people and eyeballs on one of Bentonville's biggest attractions. “It’s all about access. It’s here in Bentonville. It’s here in northwest Arkansas. We want those audience members to be the first to experience it,” BFF Programming Director Ashley Edwards said. Tonight's screening is a family-friendly film about a south Texas community that comes together for a Quinceanera and the lives changed as a result - one of the many reasons it was loved by so many at this year's BFF. “I think it was a lot of fun. They handed out crowns to all the audience members. It was a dynamic Q & A. I think it touched everyone - from kids to parents to adults,” Edwards said. The screening follows a reception which begins at 5. The film's director, Fanny Veliz Grande, will be available for Q & A after the film. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.
