Corporation to send tax message to parents through school kids

LUCKNOW: Schoolchildren will help Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) increase its house tax collection.
LMC officials will go from school to school making children aware of the importance of house tax for the city’s development and exhort them to make their parents pay due taxes on time.
LMC has selected 31 schools—17 government and 14 private—for the awareness campaign. LMC officials will make a presentation in front of the students to make them understand the importance of house tax submission and urge them to forward the same message to their parents.
Children will be told how house tax is the municipal body’s main source of providing various services to citizens and helps the corporation to maintain the city.
Municipal commissioner Indramani Tripathi said, “We have selected some schools and the campaign will start from next month. We will also educate students about the importance of keeping the city clean in view of Swachh Bharat Survey 2020.”
