Hyderabad: Telangana high court chief justice launches new digital facility for criminal courts

A new digital facility, Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), was added to the criminal justice system for the first time in the country, in Telangana, wherein police can now transmit their FIRs and charge sheets to the respective magistrate courts etc in a matter of minutes.

HYDERABAD: A new digital facility, Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), was added to the criminal justice system for the first time in the country, in Telangana, wherein police can now transmit their FIRs and charge sheets to the respective magistrate courts etc in a matter of minutes.
Starting with Karimnagar district court, this facility would be extended to all district courts in a phased manner.
Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan of Telangana high court launched this facility through video conferencing mode from the judges' lounge at HC on Monday.
The interoperability among the stakeholders of Interoperable Criminal Justice System i.e. courts, police, prosecutors, forensic experts and prisons is aiming to reduce the multiple data entry and real-time information exchange between the stakeholders for effective functioning.
Justices Sanjay Kumar, MS Ramachandra Rao and others participated.
