Man held, nephew detained for stealing cell phones in Pune

PUNE: Police on Saturday arrested a man and detained his 15-year-old nephew for stealing cell phones from different parts of the temple town of Alandi. Police recovered 12 stolen cell phones from their possession.
The man has been identified as Rahul Abhiman Chaure (45) of Chakan.
A team headed by assistant commissioner of police Chandrakant Alsatwar, senior inspector Ravindra Choudhar and inspector Prakash Jadhav arrested the man after receiving a tip off.

According to police, a boy was found roaming along with the beautiful ghats of Indrayani river at Alandi. Many people, who come to have a holy dip in the river waters, have complained to the police that unidentified persons had stolen their cell phones.
Police detained the boy and took him to the police station for questioning. The boy narrated how he used to steal the cell phone from the ghat and other parts of the temple town on the direction of his uncle. He used to hand over the stolen cell phones to his uncle who used to sell them.
Following this, police picked up Chaure. Police said that they have studied the details of the recovered cell phones and with the arrest, one case of theft has been solved. Police have contacted other cell phone owners.
