Share market update: Media shares trade lower; Dish TV falls 4%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 4.43 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 4.42 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 3.21 per cent) and Den Networks (down 3.20 per cent) were trading with losses.

Network 18 Media & Investments (down 2.71 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 2.58 per cent), Zee Media Corporation (down 2.56 per cent) and Inox Leisure (down 1.78 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.18 per cent down at 1899.80 around 12:14 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 94.30 points at 10,909.20 while the BSE Sensex was down 323.60 points at 36,799.71.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, SAIL, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, JSPL, BEL, Ashok Leyland, Dish TV India and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
