In a first, Karimnagar district court goes digital

A new digital facility, Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) was added to the criminal justice system for the first time in the country in Telangana wherein police can now transmit their FIRs and chargesheets to the respective magistrate courts in a matter of minutes.

HYDERABAD: A new digital facility, Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) was added to the criminal justice system for the first time in the country in Telangana wherein police can now transmit their FIRs and chargesheets to the respective magistrate courts in a matter of minutes.
Starting with Karimnagar district court, this facility would be extended to all district courts in a phased manner. The system aims to reduce instances of multiple data entry.
Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan of Telangana high court launched the facility through video conferencing mode from the judges' lounge at High Court on Monday.
