Meerut: Government staffer killed by wife, son over pension fund, job

A woman, 55, allegedly stabbed her husband to death and hacked his body into pieces with the help of their younger son in UP's Bulandshahr district, a ghastly crime which local police said was driven by the mother-son duo's greed for a government job on "compassionate ground" and a share in the government servant's pension fund.

MEERUT: A woman, 55, allegedly stabbed her husband to death and hacked his body into pieces with the help of their younger son in UP's Bulandshahr district, a ghastly crime which local police said was driven by the mother-son duo's greed for a government job on "compassionate ground" and a share in the government servant's pension fund.
Later, Memwati and her son Kapil, 30, kept the chopped body pieces into a basket and covered it with trash.
They later dumped it into forest near their village in Bulandshahr's Syana area.
DP Tyagi, circle officer (CO) of Syana, said, "A few days ago, Tejram Prajapati returned from his overnight duty at a government school and got into a tiff with his wife Memwati. The couple had strained ties for the last 20 years and Tejram had not mentioned his wife's name as a nominee in his pension papers. During the tiff, Memwati attacked Tejram with a sharp-edged weapon killing him instantly. Later, she sought help from her younger son Kapil to cut the body into pieces."
Victim was set to retire in December
Tejram was going to retire from his services in December this year. And Memwati had told Kapil that after his father's death he would land a government job on compassionate ground," a police officer said. CO Tyagi added, "On Sunday, a villager found a severed hand at a farm and alerted us. However, it was only on Monday morning that the remaining body parts were found. When we approached the family, the elder son, Jagveer Prajapati, told us everything."
