Fort Collins city staff will present their zoning recommendations for the former Hughes Stadium site at a public hearing Thursday Evening. KUNC's Matt Bloom joins us to tell us about the history, and the future, of this site.
Colorado State University Meeting
Students and community leaders from around the state gathered at Colorado State University on Wednesday night to show support for those protesting racism on campus.
The standing-room-only meeting of the student government followed a recent incident in which four students were shown on social media in blackface. Over several hours, many stepped up to the microphone to share their concerns. Students called for the university to be more proactive in addressing racism and to education people about it. And, sometime after midnight, the student government voted to pass several resolutions, including one focused on holding people accountable for hate speech.
In a statement, the university says they invite every member of the CSU community to email President Joyce McConnell directly with constructive and actionable ideas.

Investigating the Disappearance of Jonelle Matthews
Earlier in the summer, the remains of a long-missing 12-year-old girl were found in Weld County. Jonelle Matthews first disappeared in 1984, and the community has been wondering what happened ever since. Since the remains were found, there has been a renewed interest in the case.
Erin Udell from The Coloradoan has been going into the past to learn more, and joins us to discuss what she's found.
Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins
A new film called Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins traces the career of newspaper reporter and columnist Molly Ivins who died in 2007. For KUNC film critic Howie Movshovitz, who teaches film and television at CU Denver, the movie is fun, but it could be richer.
Youth Climate Strike

For the second time this year, kids from around the world are striking from school to demand action around climate change. Friday's walkout is ahead of a meeting of world leaders at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York. For KUNC, Ali Budner has more on a group of Colorado students who will be speaking out.
