Nalanda man beaten to death

A man was beaten to death and four others, including a woman, sustained critical injuries in two incidents in Nalanda district on Friday. One Sikander Gope died after he was allegedly beaten with bamboos and stones by Satender Gope and Pramod Gope at Ratanpura village under the Noorsarai police station area. Sikander’s wife Dano Devi and his son Raj Gaurav were also thrashed when they tried to rescue him from attackers.

BIHARSHARIF: A man was beaten to death and four others, including a woman, sustained critical injuries in two incidents in Nalanda district on Friday.
One Sikander Gope died after he was allegedly beaten with bamboos and stones by Satender Gope and Pramod Gope at Ratanpura village under the Noorsarai police station area. Sikander’s wife Dano Devi and his son Raj Gaurav were also thrashed when they tried to rescue him from attackers.
Sikander died on way to hospital while his son, Raj Gaurav, was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in a critical condition.
Sikandra’s wife Dano was being treated at Biharsharif sadar hospital.
According to police sources, children of Sikander and Satender had quarrelled over a petty issue on Thursday. On Friday, Satender and his associates beat up Sikander and his family.
SHO of Noorsarai police station said an FIR was lodged against Satender, Pramod and 10 others and raids were on to arrest them.
In another incident at Aamas village under the Kalyan Bigha police outpost in the district on Friday, miscreants thrashed Sumindar Paswan and other members of his family after he opposed illegal country liquor trade at his village. Sumindar and his brother sustained head injuries in the attack. They are undergoing treatment at Biharsharif sadar hospital.
