FAIZABAD: The infant thrown out of a moving train by a man is still not traceable. On Wednesday evening, a man had snatched the baby from his mother's lap and tossed him out of Farakka Express near Gosaiganj railway station in Faizabad.
GRP had launched a search operation but the baby was not found.
The woman, meanwhile, is still in shock at the GRP station in Ambedkar Nagar.
The man who threw the baby outside has been booked under section 307 and sent to jail.
Said to be mentally challenged, the accused was identified as Kamlesh, a resident of Sitamarhi in Bihar. He could not explain why he snatched the baby suddenly from Uma Burman, a resident of Bengal, and threw him out.
Faizabad GRP SHO Subedar Yadav said, "The baby is untraceable. The search operation will continue along a 22km stretch of tracks between Gosaiganj and Akbarpur."
