Autumn is fast approaching which means many of our favourite TV series and films are set to return to our screens.
But as we put our feet up, draw our curtains and switch on the TV , how many of us know that the shows we are watching were actually shot in our own city?
From period dramas to action films, Liverpool has become a hit location for TV producers and movie makers , with hundreds choosing to shoot their productions in the city region over the last few years.
It's hardly a surprise that Liverpool is a popular filming location with the amount of scenic beauty spots there is to chose from, so lets see just how many of them you can spot on TV this autumn.
The Crown
Many people are eagerly awaiting the return of The Crown this autumn, as Olivia Coleman is set to take over from Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II.
Back in August film crews were spotted in Liverpool filming for the TV series, with The Cunard Building standing in for Washington as signs were spotted saying 'Washington DC' around the Three Graces.
The third and fourth series of The Crown spans the timeframe 1964-76 and with the series being filmed back to back it's likely the scenes being filmed could relate to Queen Elizabeth's state visit to Washington and North America in 1976.

North John Street was also lined with with classic cars last summer for the filming, while a huge green screen was also erected.
Shop fronts were also transformed - with signs for "Bennies guitars" and "Lorrimer Books"
The new season is also predicted to cover the decolonisation of Africa and the Caribbean, the birth of Prince Edward (March 1964), and Prince Charles’ movement into the public eye following his coronation as the Prince of Wales in 1969.
The Crown returns to Netflix on November 17.
The War of the Worlds
Based on the infamous story by H.G. Wells, the BBC adaptation of War of the Worlds was set to come to our screens over two years ago.
However, according to producers Mammoth Screen, delays were due to visual effects as the post-product team struggled to complete the show's many computer generated elements in time - The Radio Times reports.
The three-part sci-fi series is now planned to air on BBC One this Autumn, with the specific date yet to be annouced.

Camera crews were spotted filming in several locations in Liverpool at the start of 2018, including St George’s Hall plateau which was transformed into Edwardian england, with soldiers, horse and carts and extras dressed in period clothes.
Similar scenes have been spotted at Eldon Grove in Vauxhall where the abandoned building stood in for a London suburb that has been destroyed by aliens.
Sir Thomas Street and Dale Street in the city centre were also flooded with extras, with old-fashioned carriages pulled along by white horse.
And producers were even spotted in Ainsdale Woods, where it looked like a meteor had hit the forest.
The north Sefton location has been transformed to show charred trees and a huge hole in the ground where aliens will be seen landing.
The War of the Worlds is the first alien invasion story in literature and this drama is the first British television adaptation.
The plot of the show will follow George and his partner Amy as they attempt to defy society and start a life together.
Fans of the show should expect to see the series on screen this Autumn but a date is yet to be announced by BBC One.
World on Fire
The seven-part drama series World on Fire is set to be released on screens this autumn, with filming locations including Liverpool, Wigan, Chester, Manchester and Prague.
Back in March 2019 Liverpool saw its streets transformed back in time to the first year of WW2, as filming commenced for the series which is written by Peter Bowker.
The drama follows the first year of the Second World War, told through the fates of people from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the USA as they come to terms with the effect the war is having on their everyday lives.
The cast for the series includes Academy Award winner Helen Hunt and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville and Sean Bean who all feature in the recently released, action packed trailer.
The first episode of World on Fire will air at 9pm on Sunday 29 September on BBC One.
The Feed
Liverpool doubled as London for the filming of the ten-part drama The Feed, which first aired on screens this week.
Set in a dystopian society, The Feed explores what happens where an implant that nearly everyone has that allows memories, emotions and information to be shared goes horribly wrong.
Stars include Guy Burnet, Michelle Fairley and David Thewlis among others.
Falkner Square was among the filming locations back in 2018, with residents asked to move their cars in advance because the show is "set in a future where most vehicles are no longer on the roads."
Other scenes were also shot around the pier head last year.
The first episode of the series aired on Virgin Media on 16 September, while Amazon Prime is airing the show in the US.
Peaky Blinders
Season five of Peaky Blinders is well underway, with the next episode due to air on Sunday night under the title Mr Jones.
Thomas Shelby fans eagerly awaited the return of the popular drama, with the series five showing the Shelby family thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929.
Among the new faces that have joined Thomas Shelby and the gang are Sam Claflin and former Hollyoaks bad boy Emmett J. Scanlan.
Peaky Blinders has been shot in Liverpool since 2012, with filming locations including the Welsh Streets, the Tobacco warehouse at Stanley Dock, the State Ballroom on Dale Street and in Port Sunlight.

Tin Star
This summer many people have spotted film crews around Liverpool and New Brighton, shooting series three of the Sky Atlantic crime drama Tin Star.
Many will know the Hollywood star Tim Roth for his roles in The Incredible Hulk, Planet of the Apes and Invincible.
While others will recall his work with the award-winning director Quentin Tarantino, appearing in Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and The Hateful Eight.
The first season of the highly-acclaimed drama premiered in 2017, while the second season aired earlier this year.
Filming for what will be the final season of the series took place on North John Street in Liverpool and up the sea front in New Brighton.
Set entirely in Liverpool, season three will see Roth's character hauling his family back to the UK to deal with his past.
The first episode is set to be aired on January 24 2020.
