25-year-old gangraped in Nizamabad forest

HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old woman who had joined her friend to watch a movie was allegedly gangraped by seven persons in Nizamabad district’s Sarangapur forest on Friday afternoon.
Local police said that the woman’s friend had taken her on his motorcycle on the pretext of watching a movie but then took her to the forest where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The accused then called his six associates who also sexually assaulted her in an auto-rickshaw.
The accused and his associates then fled the scene of the crime but ran into police officials while travelling in the auto-rickshaw. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the offence. Police later got in touch with the survivor and sent her for a medical examination. A case has been registered against the accused.
