Delhi: Woman thrashed to death over suspicion of theft in Mehrauli

A house owner and his son were arrested on Saturday for allegedly thrashing and killing a 44-year-old woman tenant over the suspicion of theft in south Delhi's Mehrauli area.

NEW DELHI: A house owner and his son were arrested on Saturday for allegedly thrashing and killing a 44-year-old woman tenant over the suspicion of theft in south Delhi's Mehrauli area.
The deceased, identified as Manju Goyal, was living in a rented accommodation in the house of one Satish Pahwa. According to the police, Satish called his wife on Saturday morning stating that Manju had committed a theft in their house.

“We received a call from a man stating that ‘his sister was killed by three-four people. The caller was later identified as Mahesh Jindal who further informed that his sister was thrashed at Pahwa’s residence,” said a police officer.
Mahesh told the police that after reaching Pahwa’s house, he found that his sister Manju was mercilessly beaten up by Satish Pahwa, his son Pankaj Pahwa and other people over suspicion of theft.
Later, Manju complained of chest pain and Mahesh took her to his house where she died in the evening.
Police have arrested Satish Pahwa and his son.
