PITTSBURGH (KDKA Radio) - Pittsburgh police are investigating what they say is an apparent drug overdose on the South Side.

According to police, the victims were together at an event Saturday night and then went to a private residence where they all took the drugs at the same time.

Three of them have died and four were hospitalized. The conditions of those in the hospital range from serious to critical.

Five of the victims were found in an apartment, one in an elevator outside the apartment and one on the street at 26th and Carson.

While this incident appears to be an isolated one, police are now concerned about a tainted, potentially deadly batch of drugs on the streets.

All of the victims were wearing an orange wristband. Police say they have identified multiple venues and events using orange wristbands Saturday night and reports by some media outlets linking this incident to specific venues were incorrect.

Police say that anyone who attended any of the events has no reason to be concerned for their health as a result.
