The Abu Dhabi T10 will attract over 100 international players and big names from Bollywood, Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of the League, said during an interview with Khaleej Times on Sunday.
The star-studded League will get underway on November 14 at the magnificent Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The first two seasons of the tournament in Sharjah saw players like Eoin Morgan, Shane Watson, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell enthrall fans in the shortest format of the game. Now as the league moves to the UAE's capital city, some of the biggest names in international cricket will return to weave their magic once again.
And Shaji Ul Mulk said that having Eoin Morgan, the World Cup-winning England captain as one of the league ambassadors, has enhanced the profile of the competition.
"You know Eoin Morgan is one of our league ambassadors. And he is with us now in India promoting the league. So yeah, all the top players in the world will once again be in action," Mulk told Khaleej Times over phone on Sunday
"You will see over 100 international players in the league this year," he added.
Meanwhile, the draft for the league will be held next month, according to Mulk.
"We are planning to have the draft between October 15 and 18. But those are the tentative dates we are taking about. We are going to finalise it in the next couple of days," he said
"We have a very clear policy when it comes to the draft. Each team is allowed to retain five players."
Having staged the first two editions in Sharjah, the T10 League moves to Abu Dhabi now, having signed a five-year deal with Abu Dhabi Cricket, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.
"Having the support of the Abu Dhabi government is huge for us," Mulk said.
"It's huge because it gives credibility to the league. It shows how seriously the government is thinking about the game. It will boost the tourism and the economic impact. So we are very, very happy and excited about it."
And the league will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony on November 14.
"That's what the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Abu Dhabi Cricket are planning. They will have a large concert. We will not have any cricket match that day," Mulk informed.
"So it will be about basically introducing the teams and having Bollywood stars. We will be doing a large concert basically. It will be absolutely big."
