MUMBAI: The 13-year-old boy arrested for allagedly stabbing his teacher, Aisha Aslam Husiya (30), to death in Govandi, has told the police that a man named Kadar had told him to do it. The boy was produced before the Justice Juvenile Board and remanded to the Child Welfare Committee’s custody.
The Shivaji Nagar police are verifying if such a person exists and have called for call data records of the boy’s parents’ phones to confirm it.
They recorded the statement of the parents on Wednesday too. The boy had given different versions on Tuesday. He said he killed his teacher after she refused to lend his mother Rs 2,000. Later, he said he was angry as she beat him up for not completing his homework. He then said a man told him to stab her or threatened to throw him into a nullah. “We have not come to any conclusion; we are verifying the facts,” an officer said.
The police are also checking a property angle and whether Kadar was connected to Aisha’s father’s murder few years back. Aslam used to run Sufi English School, under Aisha Education Trust. Aisha , a divorcee, used to run the school after tuitions.
