Mongolian President visits Nalanda University

BIHARSHARIF: Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga visited the Nalanda University ruins and Nalanda museum on Sunday. State minister for rural development Shrawan Kumar received the visiting President at Nalanda.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Road and Transport Development Byambasuren Enkhamgalan and a 25-member business delegation from Mongolia, the visiting President minutely observed the structures.

Before leaving for Gaya, President Battulga was left amused at the site of sculptures of Trailokya Vijay, Bodhisattva, Avalok Iteshvara, Maitreya Buddha kept among over 13400 antiques kept in the museum.
Indian ambassador to Mongolia NK Singh was also present. The visiting President was received by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday before he jointly unveiled the statue of Lord Buddha at Gandan Monastery with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through videoconferencing. The statue of Buddha was gifted by India.
