NEW DELHI: A 44-year-old widow was beaten to death by her landlord, his son and two others on suspicion of theft in south Delhi's Mehrauli on Saturday night. A case of murder was registered and all the four accused arrested, police said. "Manju Goyal, a domestic help, stayed at the house of one Satish Pahwa as a tenant. We received a call around 8pm from Goyal's brother, Mahesh Jindal, that his sister had been beaten to death by 3-4 people," DCP (south) Atul Kumar Thakur said.

Jindal said his sister stayed on the fourth floor and worked at her landlord's place, apart from some other houses in the locality. "My wife got a call from the Pahwas that Manju was feeling unwell," he said. Jindal claimed that when he rushed there, he found that his sister had been surrounded and was being slapped. "They kicked and punched her, and her clothes were torn. Pahwa accused my sister of stealing money. She had around Rs 60,000 with her, which the Pahwas claimed was stolen from their house," he added.
Jindal took his sister to his house after she complained of chest pain. He called a doctor, but she succumbed to injuries.
