Dream Girl box office collection Day 10: Ayushmann Khurrana film all set to cross Rs 100-crore mark

Ayushmann Khurrana's Dream Girl is unstoppable. The film is still doing well at the box office, leaving no chance for the other latest releases - Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor or Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass.

On this weekend too, despite three new releases, Dream Girl dominated the box office. The film minted Rs 9.10 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.10 crore on Sunday. Its total collection has reached to Rs 97.65 crore.

Dream Girl has been performing well since day one of its release. The film minted Rs 10.05 crore on the first day of its release. It minted Rs 16.42 crore and Rs 18.10 crore on its first Saturday and Sunday (September 14 and 15) respectively.

Dream Girl stars Ayushmann Khurrana in a never-before-seen avatar. Ayushmann is playing the character of a guy who can talk in a woman's voice. Facing financial crises, Ayushmann's character, Karam, takes up a job in a 'friendship' call centre, as Pooja.

Dream Girl's light hearted storyline is attracting fans to the theatres. Over the years, Ayushmann has also developed a strong fan base, which is why many are thronging the theatres to see the actor on 70mm in the role of Pooja in Dream Girl.

Though numbers are in Dream Girl's favour, the film didn't get good reviews from the critics. Our reviewer Charu Thakur gave the film 3 out of 5 stars. She wrote, "With a runtime of 137 minutes, Raaj Shaandilyaa (director of the film) keeps the film crisp and entertaining. But somewhere in between all the laughter, the subject loses its fizz. The film's music is peppy and works well with the script."

She added, "Raaj Shaandilyaa deserves credit for bringing something new to the table. However, his hesitation to delve deeper into the subject makes it score less on the report card. If you are looking for a light-hearted comedy this weekend, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl should definitely be on your list."

Dream Girl is on a dream run and has added another star in Ayushmann's film record.
