no An Australian model who called for leaders to do more in the battle against climate change has been slammed online for attending the Formula One Grand Prix in Singapore over the weekend.

The 27-year-old had joined thousands on Friday calling on policy makers to take seriously “their urgent cry for help”.

Online she said to her 895,000 followers that “climate change is REAL and the impact it’s having is devastating.”

“We need our leaders to implement change,” she said.

“We need to support the brave kids protesting, as it’s their future at risk.

“It’s time to focus solely on renewable energy sources and walk away from burning fossil fuels and the creation of new oils.

“It’s not about convenience anymore, it’s about the future of the planet.”

But she’s been targeted by critics over snaps she posted on Instagram on Saturday, showing her at the glamour F1 event.

Some believed her trip to the race weekend was a contradiction of what she had posted a day earlier, given the logistics of flying 10 teams made up of cars, parts, equipment and crew to 21 different destinations throughout the year.

“Sorry mate, but you can’t have it both ways,” Itsthechook wrote.

“Preach climate change/action then be flown to an F1 event. Hypocrisy at its best.”

Another, k._rud, asked: How’s that climate change protest going after flying on a plane and attending a sports car event?”

Another took aim at another of Knowles’ posts, where she said: “Well that was an epic trip”.

“Not to mention all the emissions” jfuller66 said.
