This Morning won't be airing on Monday morning - and fans aren't happy with the shake-up from ITV1, it's fair to say.

On Thursday's show Holly Willoughby revealed the reason for their absence on the first working day of the week.

Taking to the ITV1 daytime favourite, Holly - who presents alongside Phillip Schofield - said: "That is it from us, the Rugby World Cup will be on ITV tomorrow and Monday, so you won't see us until Tuesday when Alison Hammond takes a trip to the south of France with Alfie Boe and Michael Ball.

"And find out which one of our This Morning family is joining Dancing on Ice this year."

On Monday, Wales take on Georgia in their first Rugby World Cup clash - and on Thursday, England take on the USA, with both matches kicking off at 11.15am.

That means both instalments of This Morning, on Monday and Thursday, have been bumped from the schedule as ITV shakes up its TV listings.

And viewers were not happy with the news, taking to social media to vent their frustration.

One Twitter user said: "No #ThisMorning tomorrow or Monday" along with a number of crying emojis.

While another person tweeted: "Bloody Rugby!" with a whole host of angry faces.

This Morning returns to screens on Tuesday, September 24 at 10.30am on ITV.
