Fosun powers innovative development

Shanghai-based conglomerate Fosun International Ltd and the Jiading government are to promote intelligent manufacturing and innovative development in the district.
The two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the 2019 Shanghai Intelligent Manufacturing Summit and FFT Global Strategy Conference on August 22.
Fosun subsidiary FFT Holding is a global automated and flexible turn-key solutions provider and a benchmark enterprise for Germany’s Industry 4.0.
Under the agreement, the FFT project will become the company’s global headquarters after its establishment in Jiading.
“Relying on the FFT project, we will greatly expand our business in the Chinese market,” said Fosun founder Guo Guangchang.
Fosun Group will also give full play to its advantages in intelligent manufacturing, industrial automation and other fields to promote the innovation and development of Jading’s automobile industry.
Jiading and Fosun Group will also set up an emerging industry investment fund for intelligent manufacturers, mainly targeting high-tech projects to be built in the district.
Zhang Xi, Jiading’s Party secretary, said the district will accelerate construction of a world-class automobile industrial center and nurture 100-billion-yuan (US$14.13 billion) industrial clusters of integrated circuit and high-performance medical devices.
Wu Jingcheng, director of Shanghai’s economy and informatization commission, said Shanghai is actively promoting the development of 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, industrial Internet and other emerging technologies to drive high-quality development.
Shanghai issued a three-year plan for intelligent manufacturing two months ago. The city’s scale of smart manufacturing equipment industry is estimated to exceed 130 billion yuan by 2021.
