One teen dead, two youths wounded after shooting in Southeast D.C.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday night, and two other teens were wounded in front of an apartment building in the Anacostia neighborhood of Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

Authorities identified the dead as Jamel Kirkland, who lived in the Naylor Gardens neighborhood, about two miles from where he was shot. Police said the other youths were struck in the hand and foot.
