Girl, 6, raped by neighbour, critical in UP’s Hapur

MEERUT: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in Hapur’s Hafizpur area. Circle officer of Pilakhua region, Santosh Kumar, said that an FIR has been lodged at Hafizpur police station and investigation in the case has begun. The alleged rape was committed on Sunday evening.
Family of the girl claimed that their minor daughter was lured and taken to a desolate spot by the accused.She was raped and abandoned at the spot. Somehow, she managed to find her way back home and kept to herself till her health began deteriorating.
After the incident, the girl was rushed to a hospital in serious condition. She was later referred to another hospital for better care and is under observation, police said.
According to doctors at the hospital, the girl was traumatized when brought in and after examination it was clear that she was violated.
“The girl is terrified. She has undergone a horrific trauma,” a doctor said at the hospital said.
