The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized 8th edition of CII's Gujarat state level 'Quality Control Circle Competition 2019' at Vadodara recently.

VADODARA: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized 8th edition of CII's Gujarat state level 'Quality Control Circle Competition 2019' at Vadodara recently.
This state level competition is a part of CII's continuous thrust towards strengthening the quality movement in India. This competition provided unique opportunity to motivate workers from quality circles within the company and bestowed them a platform to exchange ideas and share their experiences.
A total of 35 teams and 230 delegates from leading manufacturing organizations of various sectors from all over Gujarat, participated for the competition.
The selected teams will be participating for the next level - regional quality circle competition.
"Being a German, quality is in out DNA. The way India and especially Gujarat is working towards manufacturing excellence, I can assure you in coming decades Gujarat and Germany will stand together in terms of quality," said Georg Sparschuh, chairman of CII Central Gujarat zonal council and president of Schott Glass India Pvt Ltd.
"MSMEs are the backbone of the economy to fulfil Prime Minister's dream of making India, a 5 trillion economy. MSMEs would have to improve the quality output drastically and such quality competitions help them learn from each other's best practices," said Bhavik Khera, vice chairman of CII Central Gujarat zonal council and managing director of SEE Linkages Pvt Ltd.
Team Vision QC of Apollo Tyres Limited was declared as winner while Team Everest of Tata Motors Limited was declared as first runners up and Team Silver of Larsen & Tubro Limited was declared as second runners up.
