UP: Missing Kasganj constable found dead in Firozabad canal
Constable Shivram Singh Yadav, a 2006 batch cop was posted at police line of Kasganj.
AGRA: A 36-year-old Kasganj police constable was found dead in suspicious circumstances in lower Ganga canal in Firozabad district. The victim was missing since Sunday evening.
Identified as Constable Shivram Singh Yadav, the 2006 batch cop was posted at police line of Kasganj. A missing FIR was lodged in Soron police station. On Thursday, his body was found floating in canal.
Speaking to TOI, Ajay Bhadauria, media cell incharge of Kasganj police said, “Shivram’s body was recovered from Jasrana police jurisdiction of Firozabad district.
The victim had last interaction with his family members on phone while he was near Bilram Gate of Kasganj.”
Bhadauria said, “He was married for 16-years, but was in depression as he was childless. He hardly spoke to anyone and often used to stay alone in police line where he was posted. Firozabad police is conducting autopsy of the victim’s body.”
Resident of Saifai, the victim tied knot in 2003 with Neeraj alias Pampi.
Ripudaman Singh, station house officer of Soron said, “The exact reason behind Shivram’s death is unclear as the autopsy report is yet to be received. He was on duty when he went missing. No written complaint has been received from the family members after his death.”
Earlier on August 26, a sub-inspector of Kasganj police allegedly shot himself with service pistol inside newly constricted fire brigade office in Daryaganj of Patiyali police jurisdiction. Till date, police has failed to ascertain the exact cause behind the suicide of cop.
