Roughly 1,400 people played the same winning numbers in a recent lottery drawing in South Carolina leading to $3.4 million payout.

The lucky 2-2-2-2 combination paid off in Saturday’s South Carolina Education Lottery’s Pick 4 midday drawing, the Lottery announced.

It was a record number of winners for the Pick 4, some of whom said they’d been playing all twos for years.

The Lottery said people began lining up an hour before the payoff office opened on Monday morning.

While most payouts were between $2,000 and $5,000, one lucky winner bought 16 tickets with the 2-2-2-2 combination to pocket a cool $80,000.

The state experience a similar, but smaller rush for payouts on July 8, 2012, when 652 plays won using quadruple twos.
