Boy thrashed for not sweeping floor in Faizabad

An eight-year-old boy was thrashed by his school teacher in Patranga area of Faizabad on Friday. The boy's parents alleged that the minor was beaten because he refused to sweep the floor on the campus.

LUCKNOW: An eight-year-old boy was thrashed by his school teacher in Patranga area of Faizabad on Friday. The boy's parents alleged that the minor was beaten because he refused to sweep the floor on the campus.
On Saturday, after the complaint of the victim's father Ramesh, the SDM ordered investigation by police and block education officer (BEO). A named FIR was registered against the teacher on Saturday.
Ramesh, a resident of Ganauli village, owns a small general store.
His son Deepak studies in Class II in a government primary school in Rudauli locality.
Ramesh said that on Friday, Deepak returned home with a swollen eye and head injuries.
"Deepak narrated his ordeal saying that after he refused to sweep the floor, his headmaster Sartaj Ahmad thrashed him," Ramesh said in his complaint.
Patranga SHO Santosh Singh said an FIR on charges of criminal intimidation, causing hurt and breach of peace has been registered against Ahmad.
Deepak is being treated in a hospital in Lucknow. His and Sartaj's statement are awaited.
