PATNA: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three people in Begusarai district while another woman and her minor daughter were sexually exploited by two youths in East Champaran district. All the three accused in Begusarai gang rape case were arrested on Sunday.
The Begusarai woman was allegedly gang-raped at an isolated place under the Mufassil police station on Saturday night.
The incident took place when the woman was waiting for a vehicle at a tea stall at Traffic Chowk near Begusarai town.
Police said an autorickshaw driver took the woman to an isolated place instead of Begusarai bus stand and outraged her modesty. The auto driver’s two accomplices also joined him and took turns to rape the woman. The woman somehow reached the Mufassil police station and narrated her ordeal.
Begusarai Mufassil SHO Rajbinder Prasad said the woman, mother of two, had left home after an altercation with her mother on Saturday evening. Finding her alone and upset, the autorickshaw driver, Md Enul alias Raju, committed the crime.
Apart from Enul, his two associates — Ravindra Kumar and Sajan Kumar — were also arrested. “The trio was produced before the chief judicial magistrate, who remanded them in 14-day judicial custody,” the SHO added.
In another incident, a woman teacher and her minor daughter were allegedly sexually exploited by two youths in East Champaran district recently. The mother-daughter duo met the East Champaran SP Upendra Sharma on October 4 and narrated their ordeal.

An FIR was lodged against the two accused – Dheeraj and Manoj – with the Dhaka police station. The two accused are absconding.
Police said the woman in her early 40s was staying at Dhaka sub-divisional town with her 14-year-old daughter. “The accused first raped the woman’s minor daughter in May and made a video of the crime. They then sexually exploited her threatening to make the video viral on social media,” the police said.
In September, the two youths, who were living in the same building as tenants, held the woman captive in her room and outraged her modesty. “She couldn’t muster courage to lodge complaint with the police due to social stigma,” an investigating officer said.
The woman decided to seek legal action against the accused after they demanded Rs 4 lakh from her and also threatened to make the video viral on social media. The police officer said the accused were known to the victims as they were earlier living in the same building as tenants. “Raids are on to nab the offenders,” the officer said.
