New Delhi: Former South Delhi mayor Sarita Chaudhary, who was recently expelled from BJP following a fight between her husband and her, on Monday, sought “justice” from the Central leadership of the party, saying she has been punished without any fault.

Ms Chaudhary also claimed that her version was not heard by the Delhi BJP leadership before her expulsion, which was also against the law of natural justice.

She was allegedly slapped by her husband and former Mehrauli district president Azad Singh at the Delhi BJP office last month.

The incident was considered a serious indiscipline on the part of the couple as it took place just after a meeting at the Delhi BJP office, in which Union minister and Assembly polls in-charge Prakash Javadekar was present.

Talking to reporters, she accused Mr Singh of allegedly assaulting her and misbehaving with her on various occasions.

Reportedly, a divorce case is going on between the couple.

Cracking the whip against party leaders and workers indulging in acts of indiscipline and violence, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari expelled Mr Singh and Ms Chaudhary after the duo was involved in a fight.

After the incident, Mr Singh was removed from the post of Mehrauli district president. Ms Chaudhary, who headed the party’s Beti Bachao campaign, was also removed from the post.

No immediate reaction was available from Delhi BJP as several leaders refused to say anything. Attempts to get Mr Tiwari’s reaction also proved futile.
