Bishkek, Oct.9, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Darkhan Kydyrali, the International Turkic Academy President. Member of the Academy, Professor Kadyraly Konkobayev also participated in the meeting.
The sides exchanged views on cooperation in the field of education and research, the press service of the President reported.
President Jeenbekov expressed his gratitude to the Turkic Academy for its assistance in holding events, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov in 2018 and for assistance in popularizing the Manas epic.
He also noted the active work of the Academy in holding international conferences, forums and workshops, dedicated to the Turkic history, culture and great personalities of the Turkic people. The President stressed the issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation play an important role in the development of bilateral relations between countries.
Turkic Academy President Darkhan Kydyrali informed the Kyrgyz President, who is the Chairman of Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, about the current activities and priority plans of the Academy for the near future.
He expressed his readiness to expand cooperation with educational and scientific organizations of Kyrgyzstan in order to further popularize Turkic history and culture, including the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The International Turkic Academy is an academic center coordinating scientific researches on the language, literature, culture, history of Turkic people from ancient times to the present-day and evaluating the contribution of the Turkic civilization to the human civilization on the basis of indigenous sources. The academy aims to boost the scientific cooperation across the Turkic world, help the initiatives of scholars from Turkic-speaking states and organize academic meetings on a regular basis.
